LCTL Coffeehouse

February 26, 2019 - 4:30pm to 6:30pm

350 students took a break from studying for mid-terms last week to order and enjoy kaffe and kanelbullar in Swedish, chai and chakli in Hindi, and salep and kuru pasta in Turkish! Instructors and students from the Less-Commonly-Taught Languages Center taught participants how to place their orders in Swahili, Quechua, Irish, Persian, Vietnamese, Hungarian, or one of the 14 languages on offer. Then people placed their orders at the Language Coffeehouse and enjoyed free drinks and snacks from around the world. Have you ever wondered what sorts of treats people enjoy in Greece or Egypt, or how to sign your order at the new Signing Starbucks in DC? Look out for our next Language Coffeehouse and stop by this ultimate international study break to find out! Pictures from Language CoffeeHouse 2019
